When and where is the class?
‘Bloom True: the e-course’ runs for five weeks from Monday May 27, 2013. Registration is open now. This course is wildly popular and places are limited so be sure to secure your place early! Gift vouchers are also available if you want to give the course as a special present to a precious friend – please email hello [at] braveintuitiveyou [dot] com for details.

I haven’t painted before. Is this class for me?
Yes! This class is for anyone who wants to loosen up, become more bold and explore their creativity in a new intuitive way.  The process is very forgiving and no prior experience of painting is necessary.

I am already a professional artist. Is this class for me?
Yes! Even if you have been painting for years, this class will bring a fresh approach, new techniques and a whole new way of looking at painting from a place of intuition, freedom and joy.

I have taken an in-person workshop with you before. What is the difference?
There are three main differences:
1) Although the course has been designed to feel as much like an in-person workshop as possible, there are also additional elements that will help to connect you more deeply with your everyday life as a way to find inspiration for your painting process.
2) You will have access to the professionally-shot videos for six months, so you can revisit what you learned in each lesson (compared to a workshop where you might not recall everything I said)!
3) You will share this experience with a community of like-minded people from all over the world.  You will be part of this creative family as you connect and support each other for the duration of the course.

I’ve never taken an online class before.  How does it work?  Do I need to be at my computer at a certain time?
Posts will go up daily Monday-Saturday every week for the duration of the course (five weeks).  Only two of the days are ‘painting days’ and it is up to you when you check in. Some people will choose to log on every day, while others will set aside time each weekend to go through everything. You do not need to be in class at a specific time so it does not matter what time zone you are in. You will also be given a bonus six months’ access to the classroom after the end of the course, so you can watch the videos again or review any content at your leisure.

  What materials will I need?
Please see this page for more information on the materials you will need for the class. Please note these are not included in the registration fee. If you find the canvases expensive, there are many other options you could try including heavy watercolor paper (something like a 300 lb. paper will work great), panels (such as pieces of masonite from the hardware store), over old paintings at thrift stores, or old doors.

How much time will I need?
There are two painting days per week, and it is worth trying to set aside at least 1-2 hours for each of these days so you can watch all the videos and really get into the flow.  The other days offer creative prompts, audio interviews and theory posts, which should take you no more than 30 minutes per day – and you can do them separately or catch up on everything at the end of the week – whatever works for you.

How much physical space will I need?
You are encouraged to paint as big as you can – ideally on canvasses at least 24 inch square.  You will need enough space to paint on the canvas and step away from time to time.  The actual space itself can be anywhere – in your lounge, garden, garage, or even in the park!

Will I be able to communicate with others during the course?
Yes, you will have access to a private community area (on Facebook) where you can connect with others and share images of your paintings. This space will remain open indefinitely after the course has finished, so you can continue to connect with other participants.  You can also connect with others and with Flora via the classroom itself.

Do I need a high speed internet connection to view the videos?
Yes! All the videos are shot in HD and are high quality so you will need a fairly high speed internet connection to view them. The videos are a vital part of the content of this course so please do consider this. We are not able to provide alternative viewing options for people on dial-up or very slow connections (and we cannot give refunds if you are having issues viewing the videos due to your internet connection) so please bear this in mind when registering. If you have regular broadband you should be fine.

Will I learn a lot of new painting techniques in this course?
I will share a variety of techniques and painting prompts, but please note this is not primarily a course about painting techniques, or replicating an image of what is in front of you. It is about a holistic approach to life and painting.  It’s about learning to paint like YOU rather than to paint like just like me.

I will be away for some of the time the class is running.  Does this matter?
The lessons are posted daily and remain accessible for the duration of the course and for six months afterwards.  It therefore shouldn’t be a problem catching up if you are away for a week or so during the course.

Will the classes be available after the end of the course?
Yes, we are offering a bonus classroom extension of six months’ additional access to the classroom after the course has finished, so you can watch the videos and revisit any class posts as often as you like during that time. The community space will remain open indefinitely after the end of the course.

Can I give this to a friend as a present?

Yes! Please email us at hello [at] braveintuitiveyou [dot] com for details.

How do I know if this course is for me?

This course is for you if: You want to discover a unique approach to painting, which can translate into all areas of your life.  You want to let go, be bold and allow your paintings to unfold naturally and in their own time.  You are ready to feel the fear of the unknown, but take the leap anyway.

This course is NOT for you if: You are looking for a course on specific painting techniques or want to learn how to paint what is in front of you (although a variety of techniques will be shared, this is much more about the approach than the individual techniques). You are not prepared to take risks, trust in this unique and unknown process and accept that your painting will have “awkward teenager” phases. You are not ready to listen to your intuition.

How much is it and how do I register?
The January 2013  course is available for £159/approx USD $257. We are also offering a special new GROUP rate, at £399/approx USD 639 for THREE people (equivalent of £133 / $213 per person). If you and two friends want to get together and go through the course alongside each other this is the perfect option for you.

This includes access to an online classroom hosting more than 20 videos professionally shot in HD, daily posts Monday-Saturday for five weeks, a series of creative prompts and challenges, basic yoga instruction, downloadable audio painting prompts, five in-depth audio interviews with me about my career and life as a painter and access to a community of like minded people from across the world plus six months’ extended access to the classroom after the course has finished.
